La Rampe Major est un sentier en montée qui mène à la Place du Palais au cœur de la vieille ville de Monaco et bien sûr, au Rocher de Monaco qui est le point de vue le plus élevé de toute la Principauté.
C’est également la route la plus ancienne et la plus directe vers Monaco-Ville, où se trouvent tous les sites les plus emblématiques de la Principauté de Monaco. Certaines personnes pourraient qualifier le parcours d’ardu, mais les vues qui accompagnent ce sentier vous donneront encore plus envie d’atteindre le sommet où vous assisterez à un panorama phénoménal de la région.
Au XIIIe siècle, la rampe était utilisée comme moyen de communication entre le plateau et le palais du prince. Aujourd’hui, il s’agit d’un itinéraire piétonnier d’environ 3 km de long avec des escaliers pavés rouges qui combine un bon exercice et une visite touristique.
