The Sentier du Littoral is one of the most breathtaking coastal paths in the whole region. It extends from the old quarter of La Ponche all the way to the Plage des Salins, a hidden little beach on the coast.
You should be prepared as the route contains rocky seaside footpaths, steps through the hills, and beachside trails. The views you will witness along your hike are truly exceptional. When you reach your final destination, you will find a hidden beach with a wide shoreline of golden sand and shady pine trees offering some shadow.
You will also spot some other monuments along your walk to the Plage des Salins. Some of them include the Crique des Sallins, a creek and the tomb of Emile Olivier, the former owner of the Chateau de la Moutte.
The starting point of the path is in the old quarter, La Ponche, passing through the Citadel and the marine cemetery before reaching the coast. If you would like to extend your hike further from the beach, then you can walk all the way to Pointe du Capon which offers splendid views of the coastline.
This is one of the most beautiful ways to explore the peninsula of Saint-Tropez, a very pleasant way to explore the natural beauty of the shoreline and the seaside environment at the same time. The pathway is also marked with a line of yellow paint and signs for pedestrians so you needn’t be worried about being lost.
