La Maison des Papillons is a unique museum dedicated to the work of Dany Lartigue, famous for his collection of exotic butterflies and paintings.
This butterfly museum is housed in a pretty Provençal house in the heart of the old town of Saint Tropez. It is spread across two entire floors. Prepare yourself for some of the most interesting specimens with a number of approximately 35,000.
Some exotic species originate from the Amazon and the Solomon Islands, considered the most beautiful butterflies in the world. There are also other rare types originating from Africa and South America. Of course, you will also find French species, more specifically from the Mercantour region.
Lartigue’s collection is arranged to offer the best experience to the visitors with details and vibrant colours. Admire the real beauty of butterflies in their natural inhabitant.
What’s more, you will have the opportunity to see a video showcasing the life cycle of butterflies and their stages of growth.
The museum is open from Monday to Saturday between 11 am to 12 am and 2 pm to 5 pm.
