The town of Villefranche-sur-Mer offers plenty of water fun. There are three beaches in the town. The biggest one, Plage des Marinières is approximately one kilometre long with great accessibility from both cars and train. At the same time, the entrance to the sea is gradual, so you don’t have to worry about your children. There is also plenty of space for sunbathing.
But if you prefer to have a bit more active fun instead of lying on the beach, Villefranche-sur-Mer has something for you as well.
Paddle boarding is very popular here. The rentals are located near the beach, and unless there are big waves, paddle boarding is a great opportunity to discover the town and the surrounding area from a slightly different angle.
If you prefer a bit more traditional form of water transport, you can rent a boat from the rental company. The range is really wide, from small canoes to sailboats. There is something for everyone.
A remarkably interesting trip you can go on is dolphin and whale watching. From the town you head out to the open sea on a boat accompanied by a small plane and very soon you are sure to see pods of dolphins leaping above the water surface. The captain of the boat is in communication with the pilot who discovers the whales from above and gives the boat captain the coordinates to make the search for whales easier.
With all these entertainment options, your trip to Villefranche-sur-Mer is sure to be unforgettable.
