About Saint Jean Cap Ferrat
Saint Jean Cap Ferrat is located between Nice and Monaco, a charming little town which offers a lot of green scenery as well as views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Saint Jean Cap Ferrat seperated from Villefranche-Sur-Mer and became an independent municipality right after Nice was annexed to France in 1860.
Like many other places on the French Riviera, a lot of artists visited and settled for a while in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, some of which include Charlie Chaplin, Henri Matisse, Somerset Maugham, Gregory Peck, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Jean Paul Belmondo, Roger Moore.
If you want to learn more about the Peninsula’s history in Jean Cap Ferrat you can see for yourself the heritage of the village by visiting some historical monuments and landscapes such as Saint-Hospice chapel, Saint John the Baptist Church, COEXIST Fountains, Lighthouse and semaphore, the old habour and the marina. You can also take guided tours of the village which are available all year around.
We advise you to take the trail from the village of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat all the way to Beaulieu-sur-Mer. It is around 1.5 km and is about 20 minutes long. You will be able to see the village of Eze, the town of Cap d’Ail and even the Italian Riviera along the way!
