This little church is situated at the highest point in Èze and it has been listed as Historic Monument since 1984. It is a great place to visit to become familiar with the heritage and history of the village.
The front part of the exterior of this building is in Neo-classical architecture and it displays a rich Baroque decoration. The windows are decorated in the trompe-l’œil style typical to the region. The interior is also very impressive with decorations and paintings, offering a great quality. You might see some paintings by artist JE Garnier, who is also a resident in the village.
This church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin. If you visit during the morning, you will experience some quiet time, with burning candles and a peaceful atmosphere.
Right next to this church, you will find some beautiful gardens with cacti surrounding the whole area. It’s a great scenery to enjoy the greenery and have a small break or even a picnic. There is also a small cemetery situated behind the gate.
Because of its location at the highest point in Èze, the views of the village are also excellent.
