For sports fans, a visit to Louis II stadium, the sports complex of the Principality, is a must. You will find a set of sports facilities and premises for sports activities, a sports hall, a nautical centre, and an athletics and football stadium.

Originally launched in 1985 by Prince Rainier III, the stadium dedicates its name to Prince Louis II of Monaco who built the Principality’s old stadium back in 1939.  This stadium is also known for hosting the UEFA Super Cup between 1998 and 2013 until UEFA made the decision to run each match in a different venue every year.

Guided tours are also available. You can visit the basketball hall, spaces dedicated to AS Monaco players and a walk along the lawn with a presentation of the princely boxes. Even if you are not a fan of sports, you will find the tours rather interesting and you will also have the opportunity to see a match live.

Stade Louis II is located on the southern border of the Principality, a 15-minute walk from the Royal Palace and a 30-minute walk from Monte-Carlo Casino. Gare de Monaco-Monte Carlo is also only a 20-minute walk away. As it is located in a residential area, you will also find a selection of eating and drinking areas as well.
