Unlike Villefranche sur Mer, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat offers a couple of private beaches. So if you want to enjoy some private time without the tourists, there is an option.
Passable Beach
Passable Beach is not entirely private, so anyone can take a trip there. It is located on the west of the peninsula and offers a breathtaking view of the port of Villefranche sur Mer.
The private part of the beach, formerly known as Lutétia, was first designated for guests staying at the Grand Hôtel du Cap Ferrat, which was built on the Cap Ferrat headland in 1908. The beach can be booked for completely private events. It is open from Easter to the end of September and offers outdoor and indoor showers, changing facilities, towels, sun loungers, parasols, a bar, restaurant, shop, and massage services. The beach also offers fun water activities such as jet skiing, water skiing and kayaking.
Paloma Beach
Like Passable Beach, Paloma Beach is partially open to the public. It faces east and offers breathtaking views of the cliffs of Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Eze. It is a very popular beach, so it is often crowded during the high season.
Paloma Beach was built in 1949 and was originally visited mainly by Nice residents and Americans living on the Côte d’Azur. The beach has also been visited by many famous people including Winston Churchill, Sean Connery, Elton John, and Tom Cruise. There is a nice restaurant right on the beach offering Mediterranean cuisine, specialising mainly in seafood.
Part of the beach can be reserved for private use and offers showers, changing rooms and a private bar.
