The village of Gourdon is very well known for its panoramic views as it overlooks the beautiful region of the Cote d’Azur. It is not very far from Grasse, only a few kilometers away, making it the ideal place for a small day trip.

You can enjoy a stroll through the alleys of its old town where you will see some buildings in a very interesting and beautiful architecture. For a small break, you can visit the restaurants offering some traditional dishes with Mediterranean scents. Alternatively, you can enjoy a refreshing drink at one of the many bars.

The white-stone medieval houses are also very beautiful to see, nestling around a feudal castle which Gourdon’s council always makes sure to keep well maintained. Don’t forget to visit the gardens inside the castle, inspired by Italian style and featuring a rock garden. You will find fragrances of angelicas, columbine, balsam, comfrey, lemon balms, old mints, roses, sage and many more plants which were cultivated during the Middle Ages.

For the more sporty, the ‘Chemin du Paradis’ is a hiking trail of about eight kilometres from Grasse to Gourdon and back. You will find a lot of signs along the way so you needn’t worry about getting lost.
