Overview

As the name suggests,  the Cap d’Antibes is the coastal path which extends all the way from Antibes to the neighbouring town of Juan-les-Pins. It’s a great way to enjoy the magnificent view of the sea, the villas and the gardens.

It is a 2.7 km route along the cape of Antibes which offers great views and panoramas of the sea, views of the Lérins Islands located off Cannes, views of the imposing walls of the castles of Garoupe and La Croë.

The cap d’Antibes began to develop during the time when the rich would visit the French Riviera to spend their winters and enjoy the Mediterranean climate. It was the English and the Russian tourists who discovered the cap and built luxurious mansions, which you can still see today. The Count of Fersen and a colonel were mainly responsible for tracing a road around the peninsula and opening the beautiful coastal path of cap d’Antibes to people for visiting.

Along your walk, you will spot the chapel of La Garoupe which is dedicated to those lost at sea. At the highest point of the cape, right next to the ancient chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Port, you will also see the Phare de la Garoupe, one of the most powerful lighthouses on the coast. You will also find the Jardin Thuret which was created by the botanist Gustave Thuret back in 1857.

Enjoy this long and narrow walk across from the west to east with its chic villas and the exceptional view of the sea. This hike starts and ends at Garoupe Beach on Chemin de la Garoupe which is just off Boulevard de la Garoupe on Cap d’Antibes.
