The best way to discover Antibes and appreciate its atmosphere is a stroll through the Old Town and its narrow streets. You will find a large number of shops, cafés and markets as well.
The Old Town might give a first impression of a labyrinth or a maze. Try to enjoy your walk through its streets; the city has a true Provencal soul. If you are looking for local products then the markets in old town are your best choice. There is also the Marché Provençal, a beautiful old local market which is housed beneath a 19th century roof.
While wandering in the Old Town, you will also spot the Picasso Museum which dates back when the artist lived in Antibes and created his collection which you can find today in the museum. Other surroundings along the old town include the tower museum, the church of the immaculate conception of Antibes, Chapelle Saint-Bernardin, the Peynet museum, the place du Safranier and the Promenade Amiral-de Grasse.
The old town of Antibes has a very rich heritage, with its plots, alleys, interesting houses, forts, towers, markets, museums and its magnificent views of the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea. This is a must-see when visiting Antibes!
