The Archaeology Museum is located in a military fortification in the Saint-Andre bastion. It was built by Louis XIV’s military engineer the Marquis de Vauban back in the 17th century, showcasing artefacts and other historical finds in a seaside fort.

The interior is composed of two vaulted galleries in which you will find archaeological collections of the city of Antibes. Some of the collections include several Gallo-Roman inscriptions like the stele of the Septentrion child, archaeological objects and coins.

The objects you can find in this museum retrace history back to the seven centuries of occupation to the Greek colony of Marseille from 7^th to 1^st century BC. Hence, you will find items produced by Greeks, Etruscans, Messalietes and even Romans.

The two vaulted brick galleries are topped by a massive paved terrace in which you can appreciate and admire the magnificent view from the city of Antibes and the cap d’Antibes facing the Mediterranean Sea as well.

The museum is open every day from Tuesday to Saturday except Sunday and Monday. You can visit anytime between 10 am to 1 pm or 2 pm to 5 pm.
