Located in the heart of the Old Town lies the Cours Saleya Flower Market (Marché aux Fleurs Cours Saleya). It’s favourite place for the locals but for tourists as well!
In the market you can find everything from handcrafted carvings to a wide variety of quality, locally-sourced fruits and vegetables as well as a collection of flowers with a vibrant array of colours. During your visit in the Cours Saleya market don’t forget to try Chez Thérésa’s famous Socca, a chickpea pancake which is a traditional speciality in Niçoise cuisine.
You can do your shopping during the day time, then later in the evening you can re-visit and see how it transforms from a market to a huge restaurant under the open sky.
If you decide to visit Cours Saleya on a Monday then you should know that on that day the ‘Marché aux Fleurs’ changes to ‘Marché à la brocante’ or else the antique/flea market. You can find a wide selection of items such as furniture, jewellery, books and even vintage clothing.
