While walking through the streets of Cannes, you will spot some very interesting and artistic paintings on walls of several buildings. There is actually a whole route to follow in order to see all the beautiful works drawn on the walls.
The fresco illuminates the old quarters of Cannes and it gives life, colour and a beautiful soul to the city. After all, it is a great tribute to the one and only city of cinema.
The paintings began in 2002, taking part as mural frescoes with an aim to improve the quality of life in Cannes and to give life to its streets. The paintings are displayed on the façades of houses and public buildings and they offer a cinematographic circuit through the city while admiring some of the most iconic moments and people in the history of cinema.
You will definitely recognise most of the paintings as most of them include scenes from movies and movie starts such as Marilyn Monroe, James Bond, Charlie Chaplin, Batman, Mickey Mouse, James Dean and many more.
If you have some time to stroll around Cannes then look for the paintings on the walls. They give a dash of extra glamour to one of the capitals of cinema!
