Tête de Chien is located on a high rock promontory, one of the highest points of view which overlooks the Principality of Monaco.

Its name translates to ‘The Head of the Dog’ and it was given by Gustave Saige, the archivist of Prince’s Palace of Monaco. He described it as resembling a rather characteristic appearance, the head of a dog.

On a sunny day, you can even see the Italian Riviera and the rest of the French Riviera. The views of the city, the sea and the mountains are truly impressive. If you look below, you will see the Principality of Monaco and Cap d’Ail.

If you feel like a hike then you can take a walk from Tête de Chien all the way down to the coast or even vice-versa. It’s an enjoyable hiking trail through limestone rocks across a wild landscape with beautiful cacti and uncultivated plants.

The views will give you the impression that you are on top of the world, one of the best panoramic views in the whole region.
