The Naval and Napoleonic Museum is situated at the tip of the Cap d’Antibes, in the shadow of the Tour du Graillon (Battery of Graillon), a former battery that Napoleon himself had restored to a defence post back in 1794. It is made up of a pine forest which surrounds the museum.
The location is positioned strategically, facing the Lérins Islands which commanded the accesses to the beach of Juan les Pins where Napoleon first landed in 1815.
Displayed in this museum you will find many Napoleonic items, such as artefacts, military figurines, hats, arms of honour, proclamations and illustrated documents. You will find a collection of paintings, sculptures and engravings as well.
It is a great way to get a glimpse of the adventurous life of the French emperor that once ruled all of Europe. After you finish with your visit in the interior of the museum head to the large terrace and admire the exceptional panoramic view of the Cap d’Antibes.
The museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Between 16th September to 14th June the doors open from 10 am to 4:30 pm and between 15th June and 15th September the doors open from 10 am to 6 pm.
