About Menton French Riviera

Near the border of Italy lies the coastal city of Menton with its pastel-coloured buildings and beautiful sea views.

Menton remained part of Monaco for a lot of years before officially being annexed to France and becoming part of the Alpes Maritimes department.

There are many beautiful gardens you can visit in Menton, the Jardin Serre de la Madone, the Jardin botanique exotique de Menton, the Fontana Rosa, the Maria Serena garden all of which are open to the public and offer a great view of different flowers.

Menton is also known for its Lemon Festival (Fête du Citron) which takes place every February and follows a different theme each decade. You will also find products made with lemon such as Limoncello, lemon-scented soaps, candied lemon peel and even lemon infused olive oil.

During your visit in Menton you can stroll through the alleys of Old Town, visit the Basilica St. Michel, the La Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs, the Cimetière du Vieux Château, walk around through the Old Port and admire the beautiful pastel-coloured buildings.

You can also take a walk along the Promenade du Soleil and enjoy the views of the Mediterranean Sea and of course benefit from the beautiful sun light.

You can go to Menton either by train towards the direction of Ventimiglia, Italy or by bus 100 which goes to Monaco – you can get off the next stop after Monaco.
